Why isnt there an auto save when filling out forms? I lost my work.

After filling out a form and clicking SUBMIT, the form crapped itself and I lost the work. There should be an AUTO draft save to protect the work completed.... This is costly...

    Hello Edward,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Unfortunately, we do not have a way to autosave a form. You can click on the back button of your browser to see your previously filled data but the data that will show still depends on your browser configuration. Can you please provide the link to the form in question so we can check? Normally, this error message occurs due to a long period when filling out your form. Can you try to test your form by finishing it in a shorter period and let us know how it goes?

Once we have a better idea of what’s going on, we’ll be able to come up with a solution.

No I cannot rush my work, I think we should have as much time as we like to fill out a form without having it crash. And no we cannot go back once its crashed - you have Zero option to recover.

Even word docs have auto save options. Why cant jotform create one? Its happened to me a few times and its costly when working for 30min. EG

    Hello Edward,

Thanks for getting back to us. I'm sorry this is happening. Unfortunately, we don't have autosave while filling out the form. However, we have the Save and Continue Later feature which allows your form fillers to save their partially filled-out form. Let me show you how:

    1. In Form Builder, in the orange navigation bar at the top of the page, click on Settings and then click on Show More Options.
    2. In the Form Settings menu, scroll down and select Enable in the Save and Continue Later option.

If you share the Form URL with us, we can do more tests and check if we can replicate the issue on our end while doing a submission. Also, it would help us to understand what’s happening if you could share a screenshot of your browser's Console Log when the error happens again. I have cleared your form Cache to refresh the data. You can try to test the form again.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

    I have this activated.

But its useless if Jot form crashes mid form use.

Jotform needs an auto save, in the event of suddent crashing, as it has been happening.

I think the DEVs should get onto it as a feature improvement. All excel, word etc have it... you should too...

    Hello Edward,

Thanks for getting back to us. Since this feature is currently not available, We've gone ahead and escalated your request to our developers, but when or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users also request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, we appreciate it.

    Hi Edward,

Thanks for reaching out to us for help. I’m sorry you're having issues with your form. Can you send me the link to your form so, I can take a look at it for you? Also, is your form embedded on a website? Can you send us the link to the website so that we can check?

Once we hear back from you, we'll be able to help you with this.
