Is it possible to pay via check using PayPal integration

  • Karen_Sullivan
Asked on January 22, 2021 at 6:56 PM

can I add an option where someone can choose to pay by mailing me a check?

In order to do this, would I need to create a separate form with only calculations to allow them to do this?

I am using this for registration and I need to have the other information, name, address, etc in the form....

You can add "Pay by Check" as another payment option to same form and control the fields that will be visible by conditions as you can find in this guide
    https://www.jotform.com/help/120-how-to-set-up-paypal-along-with-other-payment-options

Also you can create a form for each payment option and then embed all these forms in one main form, please check this guide for more details about this method:

    Hi
I made the changes with the conditions, but when I try to use the Paying by Check feature, and submit, it says there is an error on the form. But when I click "See Errors" nothing happens. Can you look at it and tell me what's wrong?

The user cannot submit the form because the payment field is displayed. Please note that payment via check is not possible with PayPal integration, you need to hide the payment field when the "Pay by Check" option is selected.

Also, I suggest listing your item using a basic field and then calculate the item/total manually. That way, your form will work as expected and then you can hide/show the credit card and PayPal button using conditional logic.

Once the calculation is done, you can pass the total amount to your payment integration, please check this guide: How-to-pass-a-calculation-to-a-payment-field

I created the condition to hide the payment field as you suggest, but I am still getting an error message when I try to submit.
I'm thinking I may have made the payment field "required" but I can't find where to change that, if that is the problem.
I'm unclear on what you mean by a basic field. Is this to list the products, or ?

I created a demo form for you, please check it here: https://form.jotform.com/210240744087955

If that works for your needs, you can clone the form to inspect and find out how it was done: How-to-clone-an-existing-form-from-a-url

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

When I tried to clone this, I am unable to complete it.
Why is the Total Field hidden? Can the total field show as currency?
When I choose PayPal or Credit card, the payment details do not show.

I added text and connected PayPal.
When "I will pay by Check" is selected, where is the total amount due shown?
The form needs to show the total of the Music/Membership and any donations, to know how much to pay. You have the calculation widget field hidden.
I tried to show it under conditions...

I've reviewed your latest forms Clone Let Our Spirits Soar and found that the Total Due field will always be shown, it will be hidden only when Credit Card check box is selected as the condition will show Total Cost field instead of Total Due, in all cases the total ammount calculated is the sum of the membership selected and donations selected.

I believe the form is working perfectly now, I only can recommend the below 2 enhancements:

1- Remove an extra line in What Part do you sing dropdown as in the below screenshot.

2- You may set I will pay by field to be required.

Thanks. One more question. Is it possible to make the font larger in some of the fields. On the drop down texts, or in the total due...

I already have a form with multiple submissions. Can I use this replace the existing form with this cloned form and keep the submissions together?
    Another option?
I created a separate form that has just the information about paying by check, or needing financial aid. Is it possible to embed this form into our existing form and create a condition to open this form if pay by check is chosen?
