This guide shows you how to require a minimum and a maximum number of checkboxes within a group that can be selected. For example, you may have a list of eight checkboxes, and you want to require the user to select a minimum of three options, but would like to prevent this user from selecting more than five.
- Click on your Multiple Choice (checkbox) element’s gear icon to open the Properties panel.
- Go to the Surveying tab.
- Enable the Entry Limits option.
- Enter your required range in the Minimum and Maximum fields.
On the form, a warning message will appear if the user tries to submit it while the number of selected options is outside the required range.
Let us know in the comments below if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions.
Hi, may I know how to include the Multiple Choice (checkbox) under a product?
Can you add numbers to select items in order?
So, in your example above, upon making the first of 3 required selections, an ugly, intrusive error alert is fired.
This is a terrible user experience I hope you will consider fixing ASAP.
The better experience would be to have the minimum requirement fire upon form send (or upon clicking another field) and once the maximum is reached, simply have the other boxes become uncheckable.
By all means have a guidance message appear during the process, but please refrain from having errors fire prematurely. I find this happens a lot in JotForm.
Thanks for listening.
