How to View Form Submissions

Last Update: June 30, 2016

So your form has been getting lots of responses, and you need a central place where you can view all the responses, edit them, respond to them by sending emails, print them, flag them for reading later - delete them, download excel and CSV files among other many reporting features.

In order to open and see all of your form's submissions, do the following:

1. Go to "My Forms" page and select the form with the submissions you want to view

2. Click on "Submissions" button to view the form submissions page

3. The rest is quite intuitive as illustrated in the feature highlight illustration below:

This overview hardly covers the feature rich submissions administration panel - Click on this link to view the report creating features in detail.

Tell us your experience with managing your submissions in the comments below, we would love to hear from you.

I love that I can download submissions as a pdf. The problem is that the although I am using a 14 pt font, it is microscopic in pdf form. Please advise.

My question was has the submission ID field been added to the custom report. In your example above instead of clicking on submissions in step 3 click on reports. Currently i dont see where you can add the submission ID to that report. Thanks

I am receiving emails for submissions that do not include the answer. Very frustrating as this is a time sensitive project. Please advise asap. I may have exceeded the quota as it worked yesterday. However, unlike yesterday, I don't believe recipients are aware that information did not come through.

All my users are finding that if they flag items, then go away and come back, the flags are gone. Shouldn't they be persistent?

How come the Hidden Fields in my form don't show up on the submissions?

They do show up in the email I receive after someone submits the form.

I see how to edit a response on a form once it has been submitted, but I don't see how to save it. Do I have to submit it again? I just need to change a response from female to male. Please advise.

When exporting submissions to Excel or CSV, the text of the Row labels within a Matrix response get truncated, with the trailing text replaced by an ellipsis (...).

Is there any way to get the full text of each Row label to be included in the output?

I just got my first submissions and I am not happy with how they come through on my end. Instead of showing my form WITH their answers it just says something like

"Moms name"
"Babys name"

Id like to get the entire form with their responses printed so I can put a pdf of it in the folder with client images for my records. Does anyone know how to get it to do that or if this is even possible? I use it for my contracts and I am not sure a page with answers and not the contract verbiage itself will cut it.

Hi, what is the function of the first two fields in the 'grid listing' in submissions view, it looks like an envelope and a flag?

I want my customers to upload photographs.

Is there a file size limit?

Can more than one file be submitted at once?

Hello... I'm back to JotForm cause I always loved it. You are simply perfect. Now a question: is it possible to get submissions directly to a txt file, particulary formatted (example, with a "|" between fields) and saved directly to any specific folder of my web server?! Thanks again!

I see the paid accounts can have a team of sub-users. Is there a way to assign submissions to certain sub-users for review? This is mainly to avoid two team members acting on the same submission.

Is it possible to view which emails a submission was sent to? I had a problem where a submission was only sent to one recipient (I think?) and need to know who else might have received it.

Hi, when I was using the free service all my submissions were published to a Google Doc which was very helpful for the team to view. Now that I've upgraded to Bronze that option seems no longer to be available - please advise? Thanks.

Excellent answer. Very intuitive!! While working, my thoughts are: "This is the best web page I've ever seen in the web", not only about forms, I mean ALL the web. Your explanations are really cristal. Thank you so much! Your the best. One suggestion: It would be interesting to teach everyone the importance of practicing BEFORE they send official forms to anyone. If they don't practice, they shurely WILL HAVE lots of difficulties. It is not wise to send official forms to anyone if they don't have any practice. This takes us to another suggestion: Why not dedicate a page for this practices, with alt text explanations in every step? The user will have the opportunity to get familiar with the use of his forms before sending. Have a nice day!!! And thanks again. Mike

A copy of a submission was just sent to the author, but it is not listed under my submissions. This is our first response.
