This is a follow-up report to my consultation on Monday, November 25, 2024.
- Collected samples for the following diagnostics
- PRRS ELISA
- PRRS PCR
- Mycoplasma hyo - Elisa
- APP Elisa
- PED/TGE/Delta PCR
- Skin Scrapings for Mange (Did 15, will do 15 again in December)
- Nasal Swabs for Pasteurella culture (Did 15, will do 15 again in December)
- Brachyspira hyo - PCR on 30 head
- Fecals on 15 head for parasitology
- Planning next visit on December 16th a week ahead of schedule to miss Christmas week that might delay diagnostics.
- Overall health in farrowing looked appropriate.
- Minimal scour around 10 days of age but did not seem to effect quality of the pigs.
- They are now using Barnstormer to help to breakdown the biofilm prior to disinfecting.
- Sows and gilts were in good condition coming and leaving farrowing.
- Sow condition was appropriate for stage of gestation.
- Pigs were in great health. He has minimal mortality in the replacement gilt population.
- Biosecurity entry into the farm is appropriate.
