Incomplete Payment is triggered when a person submitting to your form didn’t send or settle the payment after being redirected to the payment gateway, for example, the PayPal Payment page.
Being informed of an incomplete payment is very important so you’d know who declined to pay. And so, we’ve added the option to send an incomplete payment email alert.
Add a PayPal Standard Payment Gateway
The feature is available on the PayPal Standard/Personal payment gateway. To add one to your form…
- In the Form Builder, click the Add Form Element button.
- Go to the Payments tab.
- Search for “PayPal”.
- Click the PayPal Standard element to add it to your form.

Set the Pending Payment Email Option
To set up an Incomplete Payment Notification Email, follow the steps below:
- Click the Payment Settings (wand) icon.
- Expand the PayPal Standard Integration panel’s Additional Gateway Settings section.
- Set the Pending Payment Email option accordingly.

- Notifiers Only – only Email Notifications are sent.
- Notifiers & Autoresponders – both Email Notifications and Autoresponders will be sent.
Don’t forget to click the Continue button at the bottom to save your changes.
If you landed on the Payment Settings panel after clicking on the Payment Settings (wand) icon, you can go to the PayPal Standard Integration panel by clicking on the gear icon.

Note that these email alerts are not instant. It should take somewhere between 30 minutes to 1 hour to be emailed. The delay is there to let customers finish their transactions, and also it is a time buffer for the PayPal IPN to come through.
