How to create a Wix RSVP form

You’ve built a Wix site for your wedding, party, class, or other upcoming event, and now you need a simple way for guests to let you know if they’re coming. Replies scattered across texts and emails are easy to lose track of, but an RSVP form on your website keeps responses in one place.

Wix can handle RSVPs in two ways: Wix Events creates a dedicated event page where guests can register, while Wix Forms lets you add a basic RSVP form to an existing page on your site.

This guide explores both native Wix RSVP form methods. We’ll also compare them with Jotform for Wix, which can offer a more polished, flexible Wix RSVP form experience.

Option 1: Create an RSVP form in Wix using the Wix Events app

One way to build a Wix RSVP form is through Wix Events & Tickets, Wix’s event management app, which handles the entire flow, from event registration forms to guest lists, on a dedicated event page.

Here’s how to create an RSVP form using Wix Events:

1. Install the Wix Events & Tickets app from the Wix App Market.

2. In the Wix Harmony Editor, select My Business in the top-left corner, then click My Events at the top. This is where you create and manage every event on your site.

3. Click Create an Event, then select RSVP event as the type. Keep in mind you can’t switch an event from RSVP to ticketed later, so choose RSVP if you’re collecting responses rather than selling tickets.

4. Enter the event name, a short teaser, the date, time, and an image. These details will automatically populate the Event Details page that guests see before they register. Click Save as Draft to save.

5. In the Settings tab, click Edit next to Registration form. Here you can select whether to Ask guests to RSVP or Do not ask guests to RSVP and edit your form. 

6. Click Edit Form next to Form Preview to add form fields. Note that First name, Last name, and Email are required fields and cannot be removed. 

7. Under Settings, click Edit next to Registration settings to configure additional options, such as Registration channel or Guest limit.

8. Click Publish at the top right. Once published, open the event on your live site and submit a test RSVP to confirm the form and message work exactly as you intended.

Once it’s live, your Wix RSVP form collects responses in the event’s guest list, where you can track who’s coming.

Option 2: Create a standalone RSVP form in Wix using Wix Forms

Not every event needs its own page. If you want guests to reply from a page you already have, a standalone Wix event RSVP form built with Wix Forms is the simpler route.

1. In the Wix Harmony Editor, go to the page where you want the RSVP form to appear.
2. Click + Add, select Elements, then find Form & Contact. From here, you can place a form on the page.

3. Choose Create new form, Add existing form, or select a form from the available templates. A premade form gives you a head start on layout; a blank one lets you decide every field yourself.

4. To add your RSVP fields, click the form, then Edit to open the form builder. Use the Add form fields panel to include the fields your event needs, such as attendance, guest count, meal choice, a plus-one, or a comments box. You can also reorder fields and mark the essential ones as required.

5. In Settings, edit the message guests see after they submit. To control who’s alerted to each response, go to Forms & Submissions in your dashboard, where notifications can be managed through Wix Automations.

6. Publish the page, then submit a test entry on your live site to confirm that the fields, notification, and thank-you message all work. Check the form on mobile as well to make sure guests can easily RSVP from their phones.

You’re done! Wix Forms works well for simple Wix event registration, but it doesn’t include event-specific features like a guest list, attendance tracking, or a registration page.

Option 3: Create an RSVP form directly in Wix with Jotform

How to Add a Form to Wix

Here’s how to get started:

1. Open Jotform in the Wix App Market and click Add to Site. Select your website if you have more than one, click Continue, then Agree & Add.

2. In the Wix Harmony Editor, click + Add, select Add Elements, then choose Installed Apps. Find Jotform: Form Builder&Payments and drag it onto the page where you want your RSVP form to appear.

3. Click the gear icon to open Settings. From here, you can click Create new form or select one of your existing forms from the list below.

4. Once you click Create new form, you’ll be taken to Jotform’s form creation screen, where you can:
   • Create with AI: Describe your event and let AI generate an RSVP form for you.
   • Start from scratch: Build an RSVP form with the fields and questions you need.
   • Use template: Choose from Jotform’s RSVP form templates and customize one to fit your event.

5. Your new form will open in Jotform Form Builder, where you can review the questions, add or remove fields using Add Element, and adjust the appearance with Form Designer. You can also use Ask Copilot to refine the form.

6. In Settings, you can add conditional logic to show meal options only when guests confirm they’re attending, or ask about additional guests when someone selects a plus-one. You can also set up autoresponder emails to send guests a confirmation after they submit their RSVP.

7. Once your form is ready, return to the Wix Harmony Editor and adjust its height and width so all fields and the submit button are visible. Click Preview, test your RSVP form on desktop and mobile, and Publish your page when everything looks good.

That’s it! Your RSVP form is now part of your Wix website, without the need for you to generate or paste any embed code.
