SalesForce: Ability to send duplicated values.

    Hello!

I am running into a major issue and had I known that this couldn't be adjusted, I would have searched for another provider. I would really like to ask your wonderful design team to have a new option on the Salesforce Integration to have an option to not overwrite duplicates.

Currently the options are 1. Update Duplicate or 2. Don't Add if Already Exists

I have spoken with Salesforce and there is no workaround for this. The whole reason we switched to Jotform was for a more robust design on our applications. Due to the nature of our work, we have multiple applicants for several positions, with this design Jotform has, I'm losing all previous applications apart from the most recent application in Salesforce or it is not going to Salesforce which is where our HR team manages the applicants.

I beg you to look into this, it would make all the difference for us!

As far as I know this is not available at the moment and SalesForce will not allow to send the duplicated entries, I can also see you have asked this in another thread where you have already received a detailed answer for this: https://www.jotform.com/answers/1002011#1002194

Please, also do note that if this is not possible on the SalesForce ends then this will not be possible to implement even if we escalate this thread as a feature request.

If you have any question, let us know.

Yes, this was not a request for help, it is a request for a new feature as I think it would be extremely useful for more than just me. So is there a different forum to request features?

    Thanks!

The Support Forum is the only forum to request for adding a feature for integrations such as Salesforce and unfortunately, this is not possible to be implemented even if it is escalated to the development team.

If you have other concerns, please let us know.
    Regards

Why do you think it's not possible? It's good information because it's critical for our work, I'm just curious why it couldn't be done?

As far as I know this is not possible in SalesForce itself; however, I will forward this to our developers so they will let us know if this is either possible or not.

Do note that this will be escalated as a feature request so in case that it is possible to send duplicated values this may take some time to be implemented, we cannot ensure an ETA, but we will let you know as soon as we receive updates regarding this.

Thanks, Kevin. I had a pretty extensive call with Salesforce yesterday and they said that duplicates are welcomed, but the Jotform perimeters prevent them. I'm not sure if this is helpful, but volunteering it simply in case it is. Thanks for looking into it!

Thanks for the info, I have also provided a doc about it in the opened ticket, hopefully we can be updated as soon as possible regarding this.

    @cknoren

The "Don't add if it already exists" option always attempts to create a record, but the result of which will depend on your SalesForce account's Duplicate Rules.

If your Duplicate Rules allow duplicate entries, then a duplicate record will be created.

With that said, we have update the wizard to accurately reflect the behavior of the Duplicate Check options—"Don't add..." is now "Use SalesForce Duplicate Rules".

    We hope this helps.

    Hi Neil.

I'm pretty sure that's incorrect. Our Salesforce account is set to allow duplicate entries, we have them all the time and had them from our previous Gravity Web-to-Lead forms. I set up a call with a Salesforce developer to try to override the Jotform settings and the conclusion was it's on Jotform's end which prevents this from duplicating in Salesforce. I like that Jotform has the options, and adding a third option: Send to Salesforce as Duplicate would make it perfect.

I have checked what our developer said and it worked on my end, do note that while integrating your form with SalesForce you will need to select if the duplicated records will be updated or if the rules need to be taken from your SalesForce account.

You should have this handled on your SalesForce account and select the option "User SalesForce Duplicate Rules" in the Duplicate Check field:

SalesForce: Ability to send duplicated values Screenshot 30

Then when you send duplicated values, if your SalesForce account allows duplicates, and they should be added:

I have tested with the leads option and as you can see it works on my end.

Please give it a try and let us know how it goes on your end.

OMG! I see you created something new. This is such a life saver! I'm beyond excited. It worked for me, thank you so very much for taking this seriously. You have just saved me hours and hours of re-creating the same applications in a new online form. THANK YOU!
