Hyperlink in my auto responder gets automatically deleted

Anytime I click on the hyperlink in my auto responder it automatically deletes the URL link I put in there prior. So even if I only want to update the Text to Display it automatically defaults to empty fields.

You can highlight the text which has the link in it and then select the chain icon. This will allow you to edit the text without removing the actual link
