item description to Square is empty making difficult to identify source of payment at Square

Hi there. We've got a a few forms with Square integration — not storefronts, just user defined amounts that pull from other fields in the form, mostly selling tickets to events. When someone makes a payment, the notification email we get from Square doesn't identify what the payment was for; we get the amount and "Item: unspecified," leaving us to guess which form was used. We can include this information in the JotForm notification email, but then we have to cross-check JotForm emails with our Square emails and hope we're applying the money to the correct event.

Is it possible to pass along an item description with the Square email? It could be a single text field for each form, e.g. "Item: Payment from form #1" or "Item: Payment from form #2."

    Thanks!

I am forwarding the request to our Developer team.

They will be deciding on the basis of requests received from other users about similar feature. So I will not be able to provide to any ETA, but you will be updated  by our team in the same thread.

Square's API provide only a single field called "Note" for adding text into a transaction.

Unfortunately, we're already using that field for the customer name and email.

Would you be willing to forgo this information (name and email) to get the item description added to your transaction details?

Our treasurer does need name to be included, but since the text field already conveys two fields (name and email), could it convey name and item code instead?

"but since the text field already conveys two fields (name and email),"

By text field, are you referring to name and email fields found on your form? Or does Square provide the buyer name and email on the transactions dashboard?
