This is the error I receive: Unable to open <URL>. Cannot locate the Internet server or proxy server.
Is there anything limiting me from using the link within word?

The direct link to the form seems to be working fine. It seems that the custom URL is not correct for the form. As I check your JotForm, the custom URL generated in the publish wizard is displayed as below:
Please try changing the URL in your document and it should be working fine.
