Is it possible to force the maximum number of words in Long Text Entry field?

Hey, I know you can force the max letter or word limit in the "Short Text Entry"... and the user will not be able to type anymore.  However, does this not apply to "Large Text Entry"?  I notice it doesn't stop the user input, it will just put an alert/red outline around that field, but it doesn't stop the entries from being typed.

Is there a way to force "Large Text Entry" box to stop like short entry?

Unfortunately no, long text entry will inform the user that the number of words is over the limit and it will round the box in red:

Okay no problem, I found a workaround to simply shrinking the horizontal
width of the large text entry box, so when a user goes beyond the space...
it will scroll only vertically :-) They can still grab the
edge... but they can only resize it vertically, no horizontal extending...
took some figuring... but it will suffice for now. Thanks.
