How to allow option to approve/disapprove submission?

I have a section of the form that has 3 choices - For the submitter of the form the only option I want them to have is initial submission.  Once the form is sent to the approving pastor/director - I want them to then either choose approved or disapproved.

I am having a difficult time accomplishing this.  I have all three options listed.  But once I submit the form and it is sent to the approving director, the option to approve/disapprove is not accessible on the form.  They only receive the form as it is normally submitted.

    Can you help?

    Hello Sally,

I did check your form and see that you have added all the fields and also the checkbox button option to approve/disapprove the submissions. You seems to have added several conditions as well to send submission email to appropriate approving director as well.

Can you please let us know how you are allowing your approving director to edit the submission to approve/disapprove the submissions. Please note that to be able to approve/disapprove the submission by selecting the checkbox options, submission needs to be edited. I do not see any edit link added in notification email alert templates.

I would suggest you to please go ahead and add "{edit_link}" in the email template. When the form is submitted, submission email is sent to appropriate director which will include a clickable link. Clicking on this link will open the submission in edit mode. Please check the screenshot below on how to add "{edit_link}" in email alert:

    Hope this helps.

Do get back to us if you have any questions.

    Thank you!

I was able to accomplish what you suggested, however when I tried a test submission of the form it is telling me my form has an error.  Could you look at my form again, please?

    Hello Sally,

What error are you getting in your form? I only suggested you to add "Edit Link" in email alert and that should not cause any issue in your form.

I did test your form and here are the steps I followed:

#1. I was able to submit your form successfully without any error message. Please check the screenshot below:

#2. The email was also sent successfully to " Darryl Radford - Discipleship" with the edit link.

#3. I was able to click on the edit link which displayed the submission data in form. I was also able to approve the submission and submit the form again. Please check the screenshot below:

I would suggest you to please share a screenshot of the error message you see in your form and we will take a look. The following guide should help you on how to upload image in forum post:  http://www.jotform.com/answers/277033

We will wait for your response.

    Thank you!

After working on the form for a while I was able to get rid of the error.  I'm not sure what the problem was.  I'm so happy to hear that you were able to receive the initial submission of the form and approve the request.  Thank you so much!  That was the my main concern.

    Hello Sally,

I am glad to know that you were able to resolve the error yourself. Yes I was able to click on the edit link from submission email and approve the submission.

I would suggest you to please please test your form yourself and see if it works as expected.

    Thank you!

The form seems to be working fine. The only problem I see with the form that I would like to resolve now is... I would only like the person sending in the form initially to not be able to check yes/no to approve/disapprove the request.  I already have initial submission checked by default.  When I try to hide the field, is is also hidden for the approving pastor when he receives the form to approve.  How do I accomplish this?

Please try hiding the field via its properties. It should display the field in submission edit mode.
