I have a question required fields and conditionals

If I set up a field which leads to another and I want to make that field required, will the form not work if the dependent field is set to required, but left blank?

For example,

I create an optional phone number field and set a condition that, if the field is NOT EMPTY, I want to require that 2 additional fields are filled in (best time to call, contact preference). I set those 2 fields to required, because I want to make sure they are not left blank.
If I set them to required and the phone number field is not filled in, will the form not submit?

You can accomplish what you need to, through conditional logic, please check this guide: https://www.jotform.com/help/367-How-to-Make-a-Field-Required-Based-on-User-s-Answer

Note: unrequire the fields through it's properties if you will do it through conditions.
