How to display the donation amount in separate column of google spreadsheet?

When I look at results downloaded to a spreadsheet, I don't have a field for dollar amounts that can be totaled.

If I understand your question correctly, you want to show the donation amount separately in integrated google spreadsheet. Is that correct?

Unfortunately it is currently not possible to automatically separate the donation amount. The only option is to manually separate the data in different columns of google spreadsheet. 

Since each field display data in separate column, one way to achieve your requirement is to add a "Form Calculation" widget in your form and set the formula to read the donation amount. You can hide the form calculation widget so that its not displayed in form to your users. Please check the screenshot below:
