Autocomplete Widget: Can we show the drop down on focus of the field

Hello with the autocomplete widget I'm trying to improve the usability of it for my users and I think having the options list open when a user is in the field before typing would be perfect.  Is there a way to do with in the code?

In this case you may try a Multiple Selection widget instead. It comes with a drop down like control and a search functionality.
