How do I format a field to only allow specific type of input such as a currency amount, date etc.

Available only to Short Text Entry fields, you can validate your respondents' entry by choosing a validation format from the field's properties.

I hope this helps. If you have other questions, please feel free to contact us again anytime.

Using "Currency" as the validated format does not require a currency entry nor convert a numerical entry into one. It only disallows non-numerical entry i.e.

    Accepted: 12000 (shows as "12000" not $12,000.00")

    Accepted: $12,000.00 (shows "$12,000.00")

Not accepted: horse (shows entry-error message)

The thing I'm looking to do is easily interpret this field when large figures are input such as  400000, 2000000 or similar. If this field displayed $400,00.00/ $2,000,000.00 in those cases it will do what I need. I do suspect this is somewhat intentionally impossible but, am hoping I am wrong. Any ideas?

You may want to use the Input Masking feature to have the validation precision you need.

Let us know if this feature will still not work for you.

Thanks. I just looked though and the Input Mask does not provide for this request. It appears to get a number to format as a currency, a much simpler operation than most which are available, you have to use some sort of payment widget. Is that correct?

Can you please check Masked Input widget here. I think it is  what you were looking for.

It has multiple validation property options.
