Can the "Unique Name" of sub fields be edited?

You can only change the unique name but not the sub-fields. Are you trying to strip the full name field in email alerts or prepopulate the full name field?

If you are planning to prepopulate the form, you can use the uniquename[first] and uniquename[last]. Here's an example:

https://form.jotform.com/82045423071952?name[first]=Jane&name[last]=Doe

In email alerts, you can strip the first name and last name by using this tag: {uniqueName:first} and {uniqueName:last}.
