How to prevent visitors from assuming the Submit button or form are not working?

Our Reservation forms send a couple of emails and they also call a webhook after the visitor clicks on the Submit button. I assume because of the webhook, the processing time takes a little while but visitors sometimes think that they didn't press the Submit button or assume that the form isn't working and they click on it over and over again.

Is there any way to add a message (e.g., "Processing...", "Please Wait....") to be displayed right after they click on the button so they know it is doing something?

Unfortunately we cannot enable Unique Submissions since under some circumstances, visitors are allowed to fill out the forms again.

    Thanks

The submit button indeed has a "Please wait" message in order to let the users know the submission is being processed.

May we know if your form is embedded in a web page?

If so, please share us the link so we can further test this. Also, let us know which of your forms has the issue.

    Looking forward to your response.

    Hi Kevin_G,

Then I guess some times it may take a while for the "Submit" text to be changed to "Please Wait..." because I faced the issue myself while filling out the "Bosphorus Dinner Cruise Reservation" form for one of our customers. I clicked on the Submit and indeed nothing happened and the button didn't change for more than 6 seconds. I don't remember seeing the button change at all, although after a while the success page was displayed.

I tried to replicate the issue but it couldn't. Maybe it was related to the connection, but even in that case the button should change after being clicked on because that is when people start clicking over and over again assuming that it is not working or that they didn't click on it.

The following forms may have the problem:

Topkapi Palace Guided Tour Reservation, Bosphorus Dinner Cruise Reservation, Hagia Sophia Guided Tour Reservation, Whirling Dervishes Show Reservation

It seems that you are referring to the forms from a different account bugra_cc? Are you a sub account user of this account? As I check the form 'Bosphorus Dinner Cruise Reservation', I see that there are not many fields or conditions on the form that can restrict the form to process longer. Are these forms embedded on any your web pages and experiencing the issue? If so, please share the web page URL where the form is embedded so that we can take a look. Could you try submitting the form using the direct URL of the form and see how it works?

Please get back to us if you need any further assistance. We will be happy to help.

    Hi Kiran,

That's right, the forms should be under bugra_cc's account. I'm a sub account user of that account but I'm the one who creates and maintains the forms.

As you pointed out, there are not many fields or conditions, for that reason I think the reason is the webhook that we use to send the information to our system. The forms are embedded on our website but they can only be accessed by customers with a valid Pass ID. Unfortunately I cannot provide you any Pass ID for you to test as those forms instantly send an email to our partners and they will charge us for any submission.

We just had a customer under the name of Stella Kwek who for example submitted the Whirling Dervishes Show Reservation form 18 times! I'm herewith providing some of her Submission IDs: 4158425803521173315, 4158425803521173315, 4158425903529925410, 4158426013523269822, 4158426813522641519

She also booked the Hagia Sophia Guided Tour Reservation form 24 times!!! (4158432133524800359, 4158432183524722643, 4158432263525170232, 4158432453522151744, 4158432933524015475). The first time she submitted the form was on the 2018-10-20 14:13:33 and the last one on the same day at 14:14:53. She seems to be a very impatient person, but having to wait more than 1.5 minutes is a long time.

Nonetheless, as you can see, users don't seem to be notified to Wait or the button is still enabled and they can keep on submitting.

    Regards

We are sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused. By any chance, is the account enabled to use EU datacenter? We have identified an issue with the EU region accounts were causing some delay to submit the form when the PDF attachment is enabled for the notifications to the forms. However, the issue has already been fixed on Saturday. Could you check if you are still experiencing any issue with the form submission? If so, we request you to disable the PDF attachment in the email notification/autoresponder and see how it works.

Please get back to us if you need any further assistance. We will be happy to assist.

    Hi again Kiran,

Yes, both of our accounts use the EU datacenter. And yes, we had another customer yesterday submitting 7 times the Whirling Dervishes Show Reservation form.

I tried to disable the PDF attachment, but apparently the fix was to remove the option from the Form Settings, so unfortunately I couldn't disable it. Was it moved somewhere else?

The PDF attachment option can be found on the email settings, go to the settings tab, emails section and edit your email notification. You will find the PDF attachment option under the advanced tab:

Please let us know how it goes.
