Auto Complete widget: Ability to select the options from the list only

    Looking for help with “Question Properties”. On our form we have the Required field set as “yes” and then we have a list of account numbers in the “Items” section that once a customer starts typing in their account number it will start to auto populate based on their input.

    The problem is if they don’t select their account number in the drop down menu then the form will allow them to type in whatever they want.

    Is there a way to force the customer to select their account number from the drop down menu only?

    Are you referring to the Auto complete field 'CSP Account # ' on your form BMW Group Corporate Sales Program? I understand that you want the user to be able to select only the option from the list without allowing to enter some random text.

    If so, unfortunately, the feature to select only the options available in the list is not possible at this moment. Please confirm if you are referring to the same so that we may be able to send a feature request to our backend team.

    I have passed the feature request to our second level now. Although we cannot provide an ETA, we will keep you updated via this thread.

    I understand that you can't provide an ETA with this, but unless we can get this figured out very quickly it looks like we will have to pull this offer to our customers until there is a fix in place.

    Unfortunately, we do not have any specific widget that is supporting to search the values and to select one from the list. However, it is currently supported by the Drop Down field in the card form layout that you may give a try. 

    Since a feature request is forwarded to our backend team, we'll notify if there is any update in this regard.

    Unfortunately not all feature requests can be implemented.  Usually they are added based on the overall demand for the feature or in this case, alternative usage of a widget.  If there is any progress to this request, we will let you know here in this thread.

    Thanks for the reply, having this issue resolved for us will make or break our use of Jotform. We have tried working around this problem but there truly is no way to work around it. 

    We really hope your team can come up with a fix very soon.

    Due to the priority assigned to this ticket it is unlikely the widget functionality will change any time soon if at all.  If there are any updates, we will let you know here in this thread.  I can suggest to use the Dynamic Dropdowns widget. It has the main functionality of dropdowns to select only from the options available present. Please check the screencast below to see if that is what you need:

    unfortunately dynamic dropdowns widget will not work for us.
