Dollar sign and two decimal places: how to preserve once user starts typing in

Our form has a field to enter a payment amount. The hint-text is $0.00 - the important features there are the dollar sign and two decimal places.

When the user starts typing an actual amount the $-sign disappears and the .00 goes away. How do we preserve the $ sign and force those two decimal places to remain visible?

You could use mask to set the dollar sign and decimal, but you have to use the textbox field:

You can check how it works here: https://form.jotform.com/90651284849972

Let us know if that works for you.

    Thank you!
