Another solution that may work for me is to pass text through calculations/shortcodes and then using the unique id of the hidden field to populate my 4 main pdf's. Is there a way to pass larger amounts of text to a hidden field and then use the unique id? I'm doing this for many of my questions by typing text into a calculation. Would 'copy a fields's value' work? Or maybe there's another work around to pass a couple paragraphs to a pdf.
thanks so much

I assume that this is the form in question: https://form.jotform.com/92744905025155
How long is the text that you are looking to pass to another hidden field? Inserting text is possible through conditions: https://www.jotform.com/help/268-How-to-Insert-Text-or-Calculation-into-a-Field-Using-Conditional-Logic
Example:
However, I think it may not support long text, we could give it at try.

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to send a couple of paragraphs of formatted/styled text to a hidden field and then use the unique id to embed in a pdf?
Also, if I have a field hidden on the form and I need to have 'hide hidden fields' on, can I still drag a field into the pdf and have it show?
thanks!

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to send a couple of paragraphs of formatted/styled text to a hidden field? - I don't think you can pass a styled / formatted text to another field. Only a plain text can be passed as far as I know.
Use the unique id to embed in a pdf? - When you pass it to a field, that field should appear in your PDF together with the text you passed from the originating field.
If I have a field hidden on the form and I need to have 'hide hidden fields' on, can I still drag a field into the pdf and have it show? - Do you mean the "Hide empty form fields"? If so, yes you can still see them in PDF editor.
