How can I verify that the correct information is coming from correct user?

    Hi there,

I have the submission ip field under my client's signature box, as well as the submission date settings field.

How can I verify that the ip field is pulling the ip address of the client, and not from our agent, who is also required to sign and submit our contract?  We also have multiple submissions for our contract, (explained in the next paragraph) but any suggestions as to how to pull the ip address when the clients signs in the client box, which is the 3rd and final submission?  Also, how is the e-signature field on our form verified legally, if need be -- Where does one go to view signature details (ip address, time etcetera)?

    Our form process:

Client completes contract form and submits (no signature yet).

Our agent goes in to review and possibly make edits, upon doing so they will sign in the agent box and submits.

The client receives and email with a link back to the contract to then sign/submit in the client signature box, and submit - 3rd and final time.

Also, placed under the client signature box is the field for submission date settings.  From other help threads it appears the date stamp is coming from the very first form submission.  I haven't found an answer yet that makes the date stamp shown, come from the 2nd client signature/submission, as this is the date that actually applies to their having signed the contract.  What's the simplest solution you recommend.. should i use conditions perhaps?

    Thanks for your time!

First issue, add the following widgets to your form.

1). Add Get Visitor Location widget https://www.jotform.com/widgets/get-visitor-location

2). Add Get form page URL widget https://www.jotform.com/widgets/get-form-page-url and create a condition in your form that if page URL contains "edit", hide the Get Visitor Location widget. This method will show the widget to the client only, but will be hidden when agent edits the form and won't capture agents IP.

Second issue, you'll have to add another date field that will only appear when the form is edited. Same process, create a condition that will only show the date picker field if the get form page URL widget contains edit.

I hope this helps. Let us know if you have any questions or if you need further assistance.

Thanks Jed C.. I'll try this out, but if you could help me understand.  When our agent come in to possibly edit the form, sign and submit, there's no 'edit' value in the Get Page URL, only when the client does?  What differentiates the client making changes from the agent making changes, and how does that translate to the value 'edit' being in the Get Page URL, or not?  I just want to get my head around it, if possible.

As you asked about the IP address that may change after the submission is edited. I would like to confirm that the IP address of the submission does not update when you edit the submission so it's always from your client, when they filled the contract first.
