Map drop down list to PDF Fields

Is it possible to map the different options in a drop down list to check boxes on the pdf document?

In the screenshot the online form has the check boxes mapped to the check boxes on the pdf.  Below that I added a drop down field with the same options but I want to map them to the PDF.

What I would also like to do, is if they select the ECFE check box is it possible to have check boxes appear for more options?

It's possible to match the checkbox with a field on the imported PDF document, but not each option separately.

Which field are you trying to match the dropdown with so we can check and see if there is a possible workaround?

In the first section labeled "Select Campus or Coop" it has each box listed
and mapped to the corresponding section on the PDF. I would like to
convert that field type from the check box to the drop down; as shown in
the second field labeled "Select Campus or Coop". If I use the drop down
list exclusively when the filled in PDF form is emailed to the submitter
the field is not checked in the form.

Unfortunately, The dropdown field cannot be mapped to more than one field on the PDF form because it's seen as a single element. The single choice field is the only alternative to the dropdown in this case.
