How to populate dropdown from an external database?

Has any advancement been make in this area.  It is extremely important to us if we are to consider JotForm more than just a static input form.  If I can get even a JavaScript area and I can write my own code.  Do you have any type of developer access available?

It's not a built in feature supported in Jotform. You'll need to download your own form source and write your own script that will pull data from an external source.
