How can I identify who submitted a response?

We are looking to use JotForm to hold an election. We don't want those participating to have to explicitly identify themselves, but would like to get some kind of information from their response, whether it is an email address, name or something identifiable. I saw in the forums that submissions will have an email attached to them, but does that require use to input a spot for them to provide their email in the JotForm, or will JotForm be able to collect their email automatically without them inputting it in a spot on the form directly?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to obtain email addresses without adding an input field in the form and explicitly asking the users to enter their emails to it.
