Encrypting submissionswith encryption feature

    Hi there,

I just discovered that encryption is only an option on the forms and that it is not the default. I have a couple of questions that I could not find answers to in support.

    1. If I turn on encryption now, will that mean all the previous submission data will now be encrypted? There is personal information that needs to be protected in the submissions and I need to mitigate this error as much as possible.
    2. When you go to the Tables to review submissions the "Remove Private Key" button takes you to a description that is confusing. "By removing the private key you will not able to see the data. Please upload your private key to read your encrypted form submission data." Is the first sentence meant to say "By removing the private key you will be able to see the data."? See attached screenshot.

    Hi,

...will that mean all the previous submission data will now be encrypted?

No. Only the succeeding submissions will have encryption. Previous submissions prior to encryption will be available if you remove encryption later -- but those submissions with encryption will not be available.

In the Form Tables if you removed the Private Key but Form Encryption was still enabled (in the form), you will not see any data in the tables.

You will need to disable Form Encryption also in the form if you want to view the data with private key removed in the form tables.

I hope this help. Let us know if still not clear.
