Table formulas and forms

First question: it's possible to use in the forms the same formulas are availabel for tables? How?

The second is: we need to import some data in a form (maybe from .xls), to prepopulate some fiedl with this data, using Spreadsheet to form widget, and to use the prepopulated data to define the values of other items in the form, using conditional logic or formulas. It's possible?

For example, we import a xls file with this data:

    snp22 snp24

    customer 1 AT CG

    customer 2 AA GT

    .....

We use the Spreadsheet to form widget to prepopulate the following items:

(question 22) What is your snp22? AT

(question 23) What is your snp23: CG

Now we need to automatically define the value of the next questions:

(question 23) Your probability to remain fit is...(answers: "normal" if question 22 is "AA", "low" if question 22 is "AT", "high" if question 22 is "TT")

    How we can obtaine this?

Or, as we have a long list of this data, it's better to use a table, and after transfer the data in the report to generate a final pdf?

    Thanks.

Could you explain the first question in detail, please?

Regarding the second question, what you can do is add Short text fields on the form next to the fields containing AA, AT, etc.

After that using update/calculate conditional logic, insert the text value into the Short text fields: https://www.jotform.com/help/268-how-to-insert-text-or-calculation-into-a-field-using-conditional-logic

    Thanks.

About the first question: I see in tables are available a large number of formulas. Arethis formulas available also in forms?

    Hi Assistenzaclienti,

Yes, you may use the Excel formulas in Tables.

You can type in the brackets as they don't currently exist as fields to click in Tables. So, you would type in the formula as you normally would.

Let us know if you need further assistance.

Sorry sam_G, this is not my question.

My question is if I can use the formulas that I see in the tables also in the forms, and how to do.

With regards to the only formulas that are available on the form, we have a guide that lists all the available Math functions that you can use in conditions and/or in the Form Calculation widget on your form.

Here's the link to that guide: Form-calculation-Math-function-reference

I just would like to add that yes, you can insert a value into a field based on a value that populates another field from the Spreadsheet to Form widget.

Feel free to let us know if you need any further assistance.
