Unique order status ID

I am looking for a feature where a user can be provided with a specific ID 

Either manually made or generated.

I will have a textbox on my site where the users will be able to enter this ID number
and have the status of their order.

How can i do this? 

HI, to accomplish that you can add the Unique ID widget on your form, this will be generated, and it will not be visible on the form, but you can create a autoresponder, so the submitter will get a confirmation email of what the filled out, and the ID will be shown there.
