Possible to take photos with GPS location through jotform survey?

    Hello,

I hope this email finds you well. I am making a survey where participants (shrimp farmers) will upload photos into jotform using the 'file upload' question (screenshot below).

We need these photos to be geo-tagged (i.e. have GPS information attached). We have an external app that ensures photos are geo-tagged. But this requires users to take photos before opening the jotform survey (not using the 'Take Photo or Video' function in the file upload question).

    I have two questions:

    • 1) Is it possible to disable the 'Take a Photo or Video' option in the file upload question type? Or is there another question type we should choose?
    • 2) Does jotform have a widget/other where photos taken from the jotform survey are geo-tagged?

Thank you very much for your help, I really appreciate it!

    1. I did a quick search but this seems not possible. This functionality is mobile OS-dependent so the camera option is shown when a native input file type is opened on a mobile device, both Android and iOS. There's no workaround that I could find.

    2. Unfortunately, we do not have a widget with this feature too. You may consider using a separate widget to get the user's location. You can use these widgets.
