Can you add email as an input option, or allow for a regex against a text entry?

A specific email field is not an option in the Configurable list widget. However, you can use the text field within the widget to collect emails.

with intake of an email address as text, there is no validation that the email address entered is valid.

an email field should check that:

-something is before the @ symbol, without spaces or special characters

-something is after the @symbol, without spaces or special characters

-at the end of things there should be a period, followed by at least 2 characters, without spaces, numbers, or special characters

this is the realtime validation that I need your widget to perform, to insure that taken in data is valid, prior to submission.

Unfortunately, the Configurable list widget does not have this option. We've separate fields available that you can use to collect the emails.

Besides the basic email element in the form builder, you can also try the Email Validator widget.
