My hidden fields are staying hidden

I created a form with hidden fields but I added an edit submission link in the notification email and turned off the hide empty fields toggle.

However, when I click on the edit submission link the hidden fields do not show up.

If you are logged on to your Jotform account (as the owner of the form), the hidden fields will be shown by default. Try accessing the edit link on a private browser window/incognito (as if you're the user) then you can see that hidden fields remain hidden even in the edit links.

The notification email goes to someone who does not have a Jotform account, but shouldn't they be able to view the hidden fields?

Even if they have their own Jotform account, they will not be able to see the hidden Fields. Only you with your credentials can see them.

They will only see an empty space.
