Why is my form SSL even though I did not select "secure form"?

    Hi there,

I have several questions related to SSL vs. non-SSL forms and the JotForm free version form subsmission limits:

Two of the forms I created recently are SSL even though I did not intend this. I went to "embed form" and the "secure form" box is not checked, but the URL is still https etc.

    1. If I simply remove the "s" and the "secure" from the url and embed it, will the link work correctly (and link to a non-SSL version of the form)?

    2. How do I get the form's default url to revert to a non-SSL URL?

Secondly, I received an email saying our forms will be disabled.

    3. Is there a way I can continue to receive non-SSL submissions, since it is only the SSL submission limit that I have reached?

Please let me know if you need additional info. You can contact me via phone or email: maika@canopy.org or 650-964-6110.

    Thank you so much!

    Hello Canopy,

Two of the forms I created recently are SSL even though I did not intend this. I went to "embed form" and the "secure form" box is not checked, but the URL is still https etc.

It seems that you logged in to your JotForm account using SSL URL https://www.jotform.com and that is the reason that even if you uncheck the "Secure Form" checkbox, it will still display your form's secure URL.

    1. If I simply remove the "s" and the "secure" from the url and embed it, will the link work correctly (and link to a non-SSL version of the form)?

Yes your understanding is correct. You can remove the s from https and replace the secure text with form and the submission will treated as non secure submissions.

    Ex: https://secure.jotform.us/form/40937040328148

    change it to : http://form.jotform.us/form/40937040328148

    2. How do I get the form's default url to revert to a non-SSL URL?

Please sign in to you JotForm account using non secure website. Please use the following URL to sign in to your account :  http://www.jotform.com

    3. Is there a way I can continue to receive non-SSL submissions, since it is only the SSL submission limit that I have reached?

I have manually reset your SSL counter to zero and your account is now active. Please be informed that we can reset the counter only once per account. You should stop using the secure forms URL and secure embed scripts should be replaced by non secure embed scripts.

    Hope this helps.

Do get back to us if you have any questions.

    Thank you!
