Hello Folks!
We trust you had a great week, and enjoying our services.
We thank all our users who contributed to improve our widgets - and we appreciate all the feedback.
____
How difficult or complicated should your form be?
Some forms are very function-specific, and sometimes contain complex questions, you know, like the radial rate of shift when the coefficient of friction is less than 10% of the acting force, or the average distal comparison between the male and female clavicle among other difficult questions I could come up with (thanks Google Search)
No matter how difficult or complicated your form questions are, you can demystify them, present them in a clearer light to ease the task of your form users.
This is done by the use of rich content, assistive technology and the use of various field types - in a word -widgets. :-)
Here are some principles you can easily adopt:
1. My form has difficult questions - I can embed an image or illustration to elaborate what I mean
2. My form is for an evaluation with some difficult questions - I can use various pickers and select boxes to make it interesting and interactive
3. My form is a tutorial with a somewhat steep learning curve - I can place a video on my form to assist the form user in learning something new
4. My form is a survey with many questions - I can use a variety of form fields to assist in collecting correct answers and to also keep it interesting with each question
5. I need to know who, when and how my form was used - I can use various tools to analyze my form
No matter what your form us about, you can demystify it further. Your form users will be pretty happy.
Our trending widget of the week illustrates this principle.
Trending Widget of the Week:
A few mind-boggling facts**:
- YouTube gets 1 billion new viewers each month - that's about 33 million unique viewers each day.
- Every person on Earth watches at least one YouTube video for an hour each month
- There is at least 100 hours of new videos on YouTube every minute
YouTube boasts the largest and most popular video-sharing platform on the internet- and its used for tutorials, editorials, introductory content, ads entertainment, product expos just to name a few.
Its no wonder that the YouTube Widget peaked our charts this week, averaging at 130 new uses each day ('uses' are counted when a widget is added to a form)
The widget automatically resizes your video to fit the dimensions of your form, and requires no additional settings other than the link to the YouTube video you want to share:
Video is a powerful way to communicate - it embraces the use of images, text and voice in a well coordinated presentation - try the YouTube Widget today.

Featured Widget Updates this Week:
GIF's are animated images that can illustrate a concept, theme or idea without using too much bandwidth or storage space. Because they are lightweight, they are a favorite tool on many websites.
Giphy is a GIF sharing platform - containing thousands of images that are organized in various themes and topics showing GIF rendered animations and videos.
The Giphy widget is powered by this vast Giphy library, allowing you to embed your GIF onto your form with ease, click on the image below to see the sketch animation:
We made a few minor adjustments on this widget - all you need is your Giphy image URL to embed Giphy on your form.
The Inventory Widget has been getting quite some attention - because it has the ability automatically check and manage the the quantity of items you have available for sale depending on how many orders you have received:
We've fixed a minor display bug when managing multiple products, and also added the ability to customize the widget using CSS.
Try out the inventory widget for yourself and manage your online store better.
Its great having a drop-down list for your form users to select from - but what if the drop-down had an extensive list, and you need to organize the list into groups?
If you could, that would make it real easy for your form users to make a decision on what they want to choose from your list.
The Grouped Values Drop Down is what you are looking for:
We've added a couple of features to the widget:
- You can now adjust the drop-down field width from the form builder
- The Group Name is included in the form submission in this format: Group Name: Selected Option
Check out the Grouped Values Drop Down in action.
Button Radios add a solid structure to your form by presenting choices or options in neat - justified buttons that your form users can click on to make their choice:
We fixed a minor layout issue so that the buttons keep looking great on your form. You can customize the buttons further by selecting from a list of themes using the Button Radio Settings - Check it out.
A very useful tool indeed.
In many scenarios, its important to let people know how many people have submitted on your form - situations like opinion polls, surveys, petitions, data submission and data-basing forms among many others.
The Submissions Counter shows your form users how many submission have been completed on the form:
We've fixed an issue that prevented the widget from working on a secure page (HTTPS).
Try it out and see what the Submissions Counter can do for you.
This is an awesome date picker that allows you to customize the calender according to date format and the language.
The Localized Calendar is your ideal date picker for a form with regional constraints:
The widget supports 17 languages - Go ahead and try the Localized Calendar - compliment the regional date and language settings of your form.
The Configurable List widget is fast becoming popular - being added to more forms each day:
Its no surprise that we have received a lot of feedback concerning its improvement - so a number of updates are expected - keep an eye out and see what's new :-).
This week, we made a minor bug fix that corrects the layout of the column headings:
The Configurable List has recently been featured in one of the 7 Tools and Ideas that help you Create Forms Quickly.
Check out the Configurable List Widget here.
This is one undeniably useful feature.
Its important to make the terms of your service or the intentions of your form clear - in some instances, legal implications are inevitable.
The Terms and Conditions widget allows you to add a check-box that requires your form users to click on the link - read, understand and accept the limitations and provisions of your services/form:
We fixed a major bug that caused difficulties when editing a form containing this widget from the form builder.
Clarify the purpose of your form with the Terms and Conditions widget.
The Minimal Check-box enhances the visual layout of your form by complimenting a minimalist theme - simple, clean and clear:
Give the Minimal Check box Widget a spin here.
That's all we had for you this week - keep an eye out for more updates in the next issue of Widget News!
As always - we look forward to your feedback, and greatly appreciate all efforts that go towards making your form clearer, better and demystified.
We have a lot of widget updates in queue, and we do our best to make sure that each implementation is accurate and qualitative.
Till Next Week - :-)

Configurable List is probably the widget that gets the most feature requests. it is on its way to replace Matrix field as the choice of users for collecting group of entries.
Great job Widget Team!

Yes - Configurable List is becoming a favorite among our users - it is incidentally the second highest rated widget, next to Sound Cloud. There are a few feature requests and corrective requests which we are currently processing.
The inventory widget, though fairly new, is also gaining momentum - we'll keep an eye out and report any interesting developments.
On behalf of the team, thanks for the Kudos guys :-)

Hi,
What an awesome widget.
Is there a reason why Spanish was left off? Of the seventeen languages featured, some have very few speakers. Spanish is the second most spoken native language in the world and very much in demand among JotForm users. Could you consider adding it?
Thanks
*** Sorry, I should mention that I'm referring to the Localized Calendar.
