QR codes and website info

    Hello!

I have been tasked with adding Static QR codes to our equipment as a means to collect data. Ideally, a user would scan the QR code and be directed to a URL that has a few options for them to choose from for installation and service questions, to links to instructions and videos.

The part I struggling to get clarity on is, let's say I have 600 pieces of equipment in the field, is there a way that each piece of equipment can have a QR code that is unique to each piece of equipment, and still lead to the same URL? Essentially acting as a serialized QR code?

Furthermore, can i track the data from the unique QR codes so that when the end user scans the QR code, the website they go to can tell me which machine the scan came from? I don't need the user's data such as IP address, location, or device. Just the QR code's data itself, if it can be made unique?

Or, is there a reasonable way to essentially build 600 individual URL's (making each QR code's URL unique), but all the URL's have the same operation, but, the data can be collected that way?

    thanks for all your help!

    Andy

    Hi Andy,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Unfortunately, this can't be done using QR codes. We don't have a QR code that you can use for each item. The current functionality of the QR code is to be redirected to the form. You may want to check this article about 7 ways to use Jotform’s QR code feature.
