Is it possible to have the user customize rows and columns of a matrix by entering information in a text box for each?

I've had a look at the jotform to which you referred but I'm not sure I understand the question. Do you mean that you want a form to automatically generate a matrix with its rows and columns customized according to what was entered in the Row Options and Column Options boxes? Is this something in relation to one of our Matrix widgets or the options pictured below for the inbuilt Matrix tool?

    Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me.  My question is in relation the the matrix you described above (which is found under the Survey Tools section).

By reading the forum below, I understand that dropdown lists, and radio buttons/checkboxes can be customized by the person filling out the form.  Can rows and columns of matrices similarly be customized by the person filling out the form?

Unfortunately, this feature is not available yet. Also, could you let us know an example how do you want to use this feature so that we'll try to evaluate and may submit a request to our next level support team.

Not sure if that helps, but did you give a try using our other widgets like Matrix Dynamique, Configurable List as suggested in our earlier post from our widgets section?

    Thanks!

Thank you for getting back to me.

I have created a mock form:

    http://submit.jotformpro.com/form.php?formID=43473274604960&sid=294715174531481895&mode=edit

The form simulates 2 instances of how user inputs would be used to create a matrices.

    Eager to hear your thoughts.

P.S.  I am really impressed with JotForm's functionality.

Thanks for your compliments on our product :)

Now, it seems to me that the Matrix Dynamique would be the closest tool to achieve the functionality you seek but let me see what I can come up with and get back to you.

    Thanks

    Hi again,

Unfortunately, neither the Matrix Dynamique nor any of the other matrix-like widgets would be sufficient for your needs. I've submitted a request to our developers but unless there's a fair number of users who want that functionality, it could be a quite a while before it's incorporated into our form builder.

    Thanks
