Can I pass a Total Amount to PayPal Express form OR a Purchase order form?

Asked by kitekidsuk on January 05, 2015 at 03:30 AM

    Hi, hope you can help.

I have created a products form, and used the calculation tool to work out the total including postage (see Tabs 2 and 3 on the form):

    http://www.jotform.com//?formID=43643597058364

I have complex shipping requirements so couldn't use the PayPal tool.

So, my question is, can I pass this total value to either a PayPal express payment option, OR a Purchase Order option (depending on the payment type the customer selects on Tab 1 of the form).

I've tried looking through the forum and help guides but can't find a specific answer. Sorry if this is a repeat..

    Many thanks

    Jenny

    Hello Jenny,

Yes it is possible to achieve your requirement.

Since you already have the "Total to Pay" amount in a "Form Calculation" widget, you can easily pass on this value to your PayPal question's custom amount field. The following guide should help you:  http://www.jotform.com/help/275-How-to-pass-a-calculation-to-a-payment-field

Please check the screenshot below on how to pass the calculation value to your PayPal payment question:

With the same above mentioned process, you can pass the calculation value to PayPal express payment question as well.

Please take a look at the following cloned form where I have already made the required changes: http://form.jotformpro.com/form/50043831076953?

Feel free to clone this form for a closer look. The following guide should help you in form cloning:  http://www.jotform.com/help/42-How-to-Clone-an-Existing-Form-from-a-URL

    Hope this helps.

That's great thank you. I'll take a closer look and give it a go.

However, how do I insert the Purchase order option aswell? Ive tried dragging paypal Express in AND the Purchase Order option (depending on what the customer ticks on Tab 1), but it wont allow me to insert two payment methods.

    Thanks in advance.

    Best wishes

    Jenny

    Hello Jenny,

Yes that is correct. You are unable to add the purchase order payment question in your form because you cannot have two payment question in one form. Since you already have Paypal payment question, you cannot add purchase order tool.

There is one another way to achieve your requirement. You will have to create two different form, one with PayPal payment question and another one with purchase order tool. You can then add both these forms in a third form and show hide them based on the condition how user wants to pay. We already have a step by step guide on how to create form with multiple payments options:  http://www.jotform.com/help/182-How-to-Create-a-Basic-Multiple-Payment-form

    Hope this helps.
