Storage Policy for Uploaded Files

We currently have Premium Plan that offers 10 gb.

    Questions are below.

    1. Is that a finite bucket of storage or a monthly upload allowance?

    2. IF it is a finite amount of storage how does it discard uploaded files if I hit the limit?
        a.) Oldest dated files first?
b.) If I hit the limit does it delete off 1, 2, 3, or more space to make room?

    3. IF I stay well under my limited are my files stored forever or are they deleted after a set time?

    4. My users are uploading small excel files and logos and I have admin help that may need to
go back after as period of time to review the contents of the uploaded files for reporting etc.

I want to ensure no data is lost due to storage capacity or length of time issues.

    thanks for clarification.

    ps. we LOVE JotForm!

    Hi,

Here are my answer to your questions.

    1. Is that a finite bucket of storage or a monthly upload allowance?

You have 10 GB total of upload space allowed, which means it is NOT monthly or does not reset. But, you can free the space up by deleting the existing uploaded files.

    2. IF it is a finite amount of storage how does it discard uploaded files if I hit the limit?
        a.) Oldest dated files first?
b.) If I hit the limit does it delete off 1, 2, 3, or more space to make room?

When you are near your limit you will be notified via email or when you are logged in to you account, you'll see that you will be asked to upgrade to a higher plan, if you do not wish to upgrade to a higher plan you can delete submissions with uploaded files on them to free your space. Please do take note that when you reach any limits your forms will be temporarily be disabled.

    3. IF I stay well under my limited are my files stored forever or are they deleted after a set time?

Your uploaded files will remain in your account as long as your account remains active and no deletion will take place in our part. You are the owner of your data and you will only be the one to view, edit or delete them.

    4. My users are uploading small excel files and logos and I have admin help that may need to
go back after as period of time to review the contents of the uploaded files for reporting etc.

Under the "My Forms" section when you logged in to your account, you'll see a couple of functions where you can manage your form and its data/submissions. You can edit, view, delete submissions with specific dates, download all submissions as PDF, Excel or CSV. You can also create custom Reports where you can share them to others.

I would, however, recommend that you take advantage of our Google Drive, Dropbox and FTP Integration. Why? If you have a lot of forms and are uploading quite a number of files with large sizes on them and you are expecting to reach storage limit sooner, it would be advisable that you upload them also simultaneously with these other storage services, just to make sure that you are getting a copy of it and/or you can use another means of storing these uploaded files to manage your storage space.

You can also explore these apps that we have regarding file storage and sharing: http://apps.jotform.com/category/file_sharing_and_storage

I hope this helps. Thank you for your continued support to JotForm.

Let us know if you need more information on this.
