How to add the product description in the invoice of Fresh Books integration

    I'm trying to integrate a form with my FreshBooks account to automatically create an invoice.

    The specific issue I have with this integration is that when the invoice is created it uses the field name for the product item but there is no way for me to have a product description on the invoice.  This makes the integration pretty useless.  I need an item and a description of the item on my invoice.

    Is there some way to do this?

    Hi Tracie,

    You can add instead the item/product description in Freshbooks 

    You can do this by editing the Invoice you have created in Freshbooks.

    Thanks for getting back to me but no, that doesn't help.  The whole idea is to have this integration do the work for me.  I don't want to have to go in and manually update the invoice and then send.  

    I want to email the invoice to my customer automatically.

    Can you please tell me which Product Description of the form http://www.jotformpro.com/form/50596712074962  you cannot find in the Invoice?

    From what I see on my Freshbooks invoice so far, the Item is actually the Product Description from the form.

    For example, in your jotform http://www.jotform.com/50596712074962, the item/product description "Standard" will be the Item in Freshbook Invoice

     

    I want to email the invoice to my customer automatically.

    Can you please clarify that this is not happening on your Freshbooks invoices? You can setup the invoice to be sent via the email also. It will use the Email address provided by the form respondent on the form.

    Sorry, maybe I'm not being clear.  When I add a product I can add a name, price and link to an image.  What I can't do is add a product description.

    For example:  on my form I have a product called Standard.  I want a description for the item that says includes 1 year of service with a limit of 500 families.

    The product name is put in the invoice just fine as the Item.  But I also want a Description to carry over and display.

    Everything else with the integration works fine.

    In this case, you need to change the product description to include the full description details.

    Example, in your jotform, change 'Standard' to "Standard - (includes 1 year of service with a limit of 500 families)"

    This will then what will appear in the Invoice Item column.
