With a free account you only get 10 submissions a month, but if I do one or more of the tasks does that up my submissions per month?

With "Free" accounts you get up to 100 regular submissions per month.  The 10 limit is on SSL/Payment based submissions:

If you do the Get More tasks:

https://www.jotform.com/myaccount/getMore

It raises the regular submission limits for your account, but does not raise the limits for your SSL/Payment submissions.  To raise the limit on those types of submissions, you would need to upgrade your account.
