What happened to the OLD simple editor for designing forms?
I don't want to use the new designer.
9 times out of 10 you just need a simple form to plugin at the bottom of the page in WordPress.
Plus,JotForm is slow far too often. I'm getting complaints from my clients that the form isn't showing up on their pages. They wait... and wait... and wait.

Are there any specific things you had trouble doing in the new form designer?

Before, I just selected the simple form from one of the options in the left. I could create a new form in 10 minutes.
Now I get dumped into some CRAZY catalog of ridiculous forms that I'd never use.
It took me 20 minutes just to find the simple form that I need.

I'm sorry for the inconveniences.
If I understand you correctly, you are creating a new form using the Form Generator plugin for Wordpress? I see you mentioned Wordpress above so I assume that would be the case.
If not, this is how I create a simple test form using no template directly on www.jotform.com.
Regarding this statement:
"Now I get dumped into some CRAZY catalog of ridiculous forms that I'd never use."
Are you referring to the Templates shown to you as a list of options? It's on the left side.
You could also try creating a form directly on our website www.jotform.com. Then use the other Wordpress plugins that we have to embed those forms to your site. Here's a useful guide for JotForm Users that are embedding forms to their Wordpress: https://www.jotform.com/help/324-A-Guide-To-Forms-For-WordPress-JotForm-Users.
Please do confirm if my assumptions are correct.
Thank you for understanding.
