Under Preferences > Advanced Settings > Encrypt Form Data: I have read through other blogs, and they say that the data is encrypted on forms, but not encrypted when stored in JotForm servers and I am okay with that.. So if we intent to collect the general contact info of our clients and don want this info to be hacked, should this be selected as 'YES'?

"...but not encrypted when stored in JotForm servers.."

    Actually this is not correct.

It was mentioned specifically in the blog that the data are now stored in encrypted format.

"An Encrypted Form is one where the user’s responses are transferred and stored in an encrypted format. "

JotForm has always been secure in our almost ten years of being the easiest online form builder. Well, we just raised the bar higher. Now you have the ability to designate your forms as encrypted.

So selecting "Yes" on the Encrypt Form option is another level of security you will have on your form.

Hope this clarifies the matter. Let us know if you have further concern.

So even if I do not select this option, my forms still gonna be encrypted and my clients entered info will be safe. Have I got this right?

The encryption feature is an added level of security to your forms/data. If you enable this to your form, your form data is encrypted upon transmission and when it is stored to our servers. You can only view the data if you will upload your Jotform Key.

If you do not enable the encryption to your form, the data will be visible but that doesn't mean they aren't secure. We always made sure that data is always secured and in fact, we don't have any problems in terms of the security throughout the years.
