I am trying to contact the developer of the Location Coordinates widget but have not gotten an answer. Is there another way I can get support? I have a very important issue that needs to be fixed in order to use the code.

    Hi,

This forum is our main support on JotForm. If you have any concerns in your form like widgets, you can inform us through this forum. Regarding your concern on the Location Coordinates widget, can you provide us more details regarding the issue so we can further check?

We will wait for your response.
    Regards.

Currently I have a google map on my form that you guys coded for me where the user clicks on the map to report the location of an invasive fish. Because this was done through custom coding rather than a widget every time I have to change something I end up taking hours talking with support trying to get the code running again. I was really excited when I saw the Location Coordinates because it seemed like it offered exactly what I've been trying to do, but it will not work in the ocean (which is where all fish are, therefor all of my data). Even if I click five miles offshore, the app will snap back to the closest physical address which renders it completely useless. So I was hoping the developer would be able to help me and make it so the gps coordinates stay whereever you click.

A ticket has been submitted to see if the widget can be enhanced as you've specified but I won't be able to state if and when the requested functionality will be added.

As a matter of interest, each of our widgets has a review tab via which comments may be posted:

Those comments are read by our widgets team which implements bug fixes and so on.

Anyway, we'll keep you posted on any updates to the Location Coordinates widget.

    Thanks

Thanks for submitting the ticket. The only comment on their page is mine which nobody answered so i'll just keep checking back and sending more messages. It's for very important work being done in the Caribbean.

You can rest assured that the ticket (and your comment at the widget's reviews tab) will not be ignored (no tickets or comments ever are, really) because before I could reword this thread's title to more accurately describe the subject of the ticket, it was assigned to a developer and marked as important.

Also, one could say I have a vested interest in the success of your work because I actually live in the Caribbean (Barbados, to be precise) and no doubt this is about the Lion Fish invasion. We're trying our best to control their population by coming up with creative ways to cook and serve the spiny menace to tourists and locals alike. (I understand it's quite tasty and nutritious but haven't had occasion to sample any as yet.)

    Thanks

Thank you so much for getting back to me! Yes I am involved with the lionfish invasion. The non-profit I work with is currently the only database of lionfish removals for the US Virgin Islands and we are working on spreading it throughout the rest of the Caribbean. This has been possible because of what I've been able to do with JotForm, but as we grow I need the form to grow with us! I will keep checking back, please let me know if there is anything else I can do to help with this issue.

You can now get locations over the sea - please give the widget a try and let us know.

    Thanks!
