Form feedback occasionally disappears

    On pressing submit, sometimes the form feedback reading "There are errors on the form. Please fix them before continuing." will appear and quickly disappear. What could cause this to happen? It seems it is related to not selecting an item on a drop down in the form.

    This occurs on Android, iPhone and Windows/Linux Chrome.

    First of all, we are sorry for the confusion. It is related with the error as you see below:

    Currently, we are rarely getting that error for one second and when you refresh the page it disappears completely.

    Our developers are trying to get rid of that error. If you see it again, please let us know.

    Didn't see that?

    As a test, fill valid answers for first, last, email and the two compulsory checkboxes. Don't put anything into the college field. Ignore the last checkbox.

    Press Submit and hopefully you'll see what I mean.

    I tested your form and the field that you are requesting to let empty is required, so you will always receive that message, or the form simply will not be submitted.

    If you do not required that field to be filled, just remove the require property in the Form Builder:

    Thanks. I'm aware of that. I want the first item in the menu to indicate that no selection has been made. It is the error message that is the issue.

    On pressing submit, you'll see the error message show near the Submit button for a split second before disappearing. It seems the scenario I describe above only occurs when there is no College selection made. I need the error message to stay like it would for any other field not being filled.

    I think the problem is related to the Dynamic Dropdowns widget. The purpose of the widget (dynamic options) is not used in the form so I would suggest changing this to a regular dropdown field.

    Ah. That did it. The item did have two dropdowns at one point, I removed the second dropdown. Redoing the item as a single worked. Thanks!
