HELP! I accidentally deleted my submissions!

Asked by ErrorMeister4000 on February 15, 2016 at 09:17 AM

I have just done something very foolish and horrible.

I meant to delete one single double-submission, and I ended up deleting ALL my submissions dating back to October last year.

Is there ANYTHING you can do to bring them back?

    Best regards,

I'm sorry to say, unfortunately, when you delete a submission, it is permanent and irreversible. The data is owned by the user, with that, we do not create copies of it once deleted. It is remove or deleted in our servers.

There are messages showing before deleting submissions, if you use the "Delete All submissions", it will display this message:

When deleting submissions one by one, there's also another message that will pop-up:

If you have setup a notification to send a copy of the submission in your email, you can use that as a reference.

Another way is to check your form's email history, you can also check the submission data from there. Here's a guide that you can follow: http://www.jotform.com/help/293-How-to-view-all-your-form-Email-History

I hope that helps. I strongly suggest taking advantage of the following integrations in case of accidental deletion of data:

Automatically send the submission data on a Google Spreadsheet: http://www.jotform.com/help/228-How-to-Integrate-Form-with-Google-Spreadsheet

Upload PDF submissions and the file uploads automatically in your Google Drive account: http://www.jotform.com/help/192-How-to-Integrate-a-Form-with-Google-Drive

Upload PDF submissions and the file uploads automatically in your Dropbox account: http://www.jotform.com/help/77-Upload-to-Dropbox-with-JotForm

Those integrations will allow you to have a real-time backup of your new submission data in your 3rd party accounts.
