Autoresponder email customizing issue

I have tried to customize the autoresponder email to have my contact and opt in content, deleting the text box and inserting my content.  I click finish and then save, yet when I go back to check the autorespoder email, it does not have my content, yet has the generic text box.  I have attempted to redo this 8 times to no avail.  Please advise!

Please note that not all HTML elements are allowed in the email editor. Scripts are also not allowed in the area. If you're pasting an HTML content in the email body and if you can't see the desired result, that means some of the elements are being removed, unsupported.
