Can checkbox options for a single field be stored in separate columns of the database?

I have several questions with a list of checkbox options, and users are instructed to check all that apply. I need each option to store in a separate column of the database for ease of transferring the data into another database. How can I do that?

Unfortunately, that would not be possible by it's default settings. However, a trick that you can do is that you can set it up by assigning one question per checkbox item. This way, once certain items are checked, it will appear in its own column in your submissions page.
