I want to create a set of multiple choice questions. The questions would be in the following format:
1. Text of Question 1
a) Response A
b) Response B
c) Response C
d) Response D
This is easily done. However what I do want to actually receive in submissions is "a)" and not the whole "a Response A".
I can then export the submissions to an Excel workbook and automatically mark the examination.
Can I do this? Thanks.

I think it is possible with the form calculation widget. I will clone one of your forms and test it. Then I get back to you soon.

Hello again,
I've tested it and I am able to show letters instead of answers on submissions page with Form calculation widget.
Here is how to do that:
First of all, you will add the calculation widget for all of your questions one by one as you see below:
Then, you will add the values of your question from edit properties.
We are holding values as letters. Because of that reason, you will add your field to calculation with char as you see below:
DO the same steps for your other questions. Now we are showing the value with calculation. You can hide the calculation field so your customers will not able to see them.
You can rename your calculation fields as you see below:
We can hide our whole answers on submissions page by unchecking our questions as you see below:
That's all.=)
You will also see the letters when you export your submission.
If you have any question or issues, please do not hesitate contacting us. We will be glad to assist you.
