submissions still showing unread - and some not clearing and showing unsubmited

I believe you are referring to the "Unread Submissions" in the Inbox. If you read the submission in the Inbox, it will be marked as read.
In My Forms page, select the form and then click the "Inbox" button.
After that, scan the submissions by pressing the next button. The scanned submissions will be marked as read.
You can also "Mark all as read" using the "More" button.
