Can I set the state on the Address Field as abbreviated US states?

Asked by familyformation on September 29, 2016 at 05:48 PM
Hi, JotForm - I'm hoping that I won't have to retype every "North Carolina" as "NC" before putting this information into my database (along with all the other states). We use this information for mail merges here at our church. Is there a chance that this will be an option anytime in the near future? Thanks!

As discussed on the other thread where you initially replied, it's not possible to abbreviate the State section of the Address Field. As an alternative, you may use a regular dropdown menu and use the Predefined Option for US States Abbr. You won't have to retype everything since the data that will be passed on submissions will be the abbreviated options on the dropdown you're about to add.

To achieve this, do the following:

    1. On your Address Field, remove the State and Country options.

    2. Add a dropdown menu and set its Predefined Options to US States Abbr.
